Tom Sutrinaitis

Tom Sutrinaitis is a vice president of Silicon Valley Bank’s Technology Banking division in Chicago. He’s responsible for sourcing and managing client relationships throughout the Midwest, developing new business opportunities, and creating partnerships through CEO & CFO relationships, VC general partners, and market events. Tom seeks to develop strong relationships with top influencers in the technology ecosystem, specifically VC-backed companies in the software and innovation industries. He also advises C-suite executives, addressing their specific financial needs and supporting them in creating innovative solutions. In addition, he manages the performance of portfolio companies by analyzing their business models and operating results and by fostering ongoing conversations with C-level executives and VC general partners.

Before joining SVB, Tom was a Private Banker at J.P. Morgan, where he helped family offices, founders, and private business owners manage their personal assets throughout liquidity events and company exits. He also helped them manage investment planning, treasury planning, and tax & estate optimization strategies.

What excites Tom most about his work is the opportunity to advise top entrepreneurs and help them navigate the early stages of developing world-changing businesses. He enjoys being on the cutting edge of innovation, and is energized by finding ways to help founders scale their businesses quickly, either by leveraging SVB’s expertise or by tapping into shared networks, services, and resources.

Tom has an MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology, and earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Chicago, where he was a four-year varsity athlete and class captain of the football team. As a first-generation American, he attended The University of Chicago via the Odyssey Scholarship Program, which provides enhanced academic, social, and career support to students from lower-income families or who are the first in their families to attend college.

In 2021, Tom completed Y Combinator’s Future Founders Startup School. He also serves on the board of directors of the Alumni Club of The University of Chicago, and is a Co-Chairman of the Chicago Junior Board of the charity organization “Help For Children.”
