Tom Lowden

As vice president of Relationship Management in the Technology Banking division, Tom Lowden maintains a strong pulse on the technology ecosystem in Canada and helps founders make meaningful connections with the SVB professionals who provide the creative and bespoke financial solutions and specialized services they need to thrive in the innovation economy.

Tom received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and completed an MBA from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, where he was valedictorian for his graduating class in 2014.

Tom’s experience to date has helped him create a diverse and far-reaching network of founders and operators. Tom helped create the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL), where he went on to serve as associate director and director of the program, a premier global accelerator for building massively scalable science–based companies. From there, he was on the corporate venture arm of Boat Rocker Media, which invested in media and media-related technologies. He also spent some time in the food and beverage industry scaling the Toronto-based Dineen Coffee Company. Lastly, combining all of his previous experiences, he managed WeWork Labs, WeWork’s product for early-stage technology companies across Canada and the United States.

Outside of work, Tom devotes most of his free time to his family. As an avid foodie, this includes teaching his two young children, Charlotte and Jack, the wonders of delicious food.
