Keith Cox

Keith Cox is head of leveraged finance and sponsor coverage for Silicon Valley Bank in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, he is responsible for leading the bank’s sponsor finance business, including origination, execution and portfolio management for clients in the life science and healthcare sector. Keith drives strategy and provides advisory services and lending product support to various SVB entities, including SVB Securities and SVB Asset Management. Keith is passionate about helping clients and colleagues reach their goals. He joined Silicon Valley Bank in 2021 as managing director, sponsor finance, before moving to his current role.

Keith is a seasoned lending executive with more than 20 years of experience driving growth at a variety of banks and unregulated lenders, particularly in technology and healthcare verticals. He has led teams of all sizes to successfully achieve — and exceed — client and business goals. Keith credits strong poise and a team-first approach to assisting him reach business objectives throughout his career, which includes helping to direct the credit strategy for Parthenon Capital, a $2 billion private equity partnership. He held executive and senior level positions for SunTrust (now Truist), NewStar Financial and FleetBoston Financial. He also supported the US Navy Naval Sea Systems Command as a project engineer and mechanical engineer.

Keith earned an MBA with a concentration in finance and operations from the Yale School of Management at Yale University, where he earned top distinctions in management of quality, negotiation and teambuilding. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, cum laude, from Tufts University.
