Ellen Pizzuto

Vice President

Energy & Resource Innovation

Office

Professional Summary

Ellen Pizzuto is a vice president at SVB in Houston, Texas. As part of the energy and resource innovation team, she focuses on the oil and gas industry as well as industrial technology companies. In this role, she manages the team’s existing portfolio and works on new business. In addition, Ellen strives to enhance the bank’s recently established presence in this particular niche and region. She thrives on supporting investors and enterprises that are working on a variety of energy solutions, and she particularly admires their mission to change the status quo in an industry that’s traditionally wary of change.

Ellen launched her career in 2014 when she joined SVB’s Associate Development Program in Boston. As an associate, she supported innovative companies in multiple geographic regions. These included growth-stage technology companies as well as energy and resource innovation companies that spanned the spectrum from early-stage to corporate finance. In 2015, Ellen moved to Texas, where she has been working with SVB’s Energy Innovation team. Ellen earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and Italian studies from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

Parli italiano? If you do — speak Italian, that is — go ahead and have a little chiacchierata (chat) in italiano with Ellen. This avid traveler spent her junior academic year abroad in Florence and extended her stay in Italy as an au pair for a summer. She is now fluent in Italian and has gained certification as a Level 1 Italian tutor. Ellen also loves to cook; through this passion, she supports Plant It Forward, an initiative that brings fresh, local produce to Houston by helping refugees nurture their own urban farm businesses.
