Elaine Ganino

As a senior wine program developer for SVB, Elaine Ganino is dedicated to developing and delivering global wine-centric programs that connect the bank’s premium wine, technology and venture capital clients. Based in Santa Rosa, Elaine advises and educates the SVB team on wine and how to elevate the experience when selecting, entertaining and gifting premium client wines. If that sounds like a plum of a job, it is: Elaine loves learning the history of wine country and delving into the stories behind each of the bank’s winery clients. She also enjoys sharing her ever-expanding expertise with her colleagues across the entire SVB organization and witnessing their growing enthusiasm about the wine world.

Wine is a stirring symbol of hospitality, and Elaine spent 17-plus years in catering and event sales in the hospitality industry. During this time, her fascination with wine took root and flourished. Elaine also has extensive experience in both the tech industry and the corporate world. She joined SVB in 2005 and served several years in the bank’s operations and IT divisions. Earlier in her career, Elaine worked in the technology field for Cisco Systems. Now Elaine blends her understanding of technology and the corporate world, her skills in hospitality and her passion for wine into one unique role. Elaine attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied biological sciences.

Family is important to Elaine; she loves spending time with her husband and two children, where they can often be found volunteering at their church or throughout their beloved Sonoma community to help youth, foster children and the homeless. Elaine also enjoys hula dancing — she was a competitive hula dancer for eight years, and she looks forward to taking up the art form again after her kids have grown. For now, she gets her exercise through a morning jog each day with her Wire Fox Terrier, Duke.
