Boris Pluskowski

Boris Pluskowski is a Managing Director and Head of Silicon Valley Bank’s Innovation Next program. Under his leadership, the group leverages SVB’s unique global connections, expertise and data to help corporate innovation and venture teams succeed in the competitive startup ecosystem. It’s a role that leverages his extensive experience in strategy, enterprise innovation and startups.

Boris began his career in the Strategic Management Consulting Practice for PricewaterhouseCoopers, working in both London and Boston, and went on to hold executive positions with some of the world’s premier technology startups. Among his roles: Chief Marketing Officer and VP of Professional Services for Boston-based Imaginatik; senior vice president of Innovation Strategy for San Francisco–based Spigit; senior vice president for Customer Success and Innovation Services for San Francisco–based Mindjet; SVP Sales of renown accelerator/incubator RocketSpace, and co-founder and managing partner of consulting group NextStrat.

Boris is also co-author of A Guide to Open Innovation and Crowd Sourcing (Kogan Page, 2011) and has written extensively on corporate innovation, venture strategy, enterprise growth, collaboration and the application of leading edge gamification techniques into enterprise use case applications.

Boris earned a bachelor’s degree in geology and management from Imperial College London and an MBA with specialization in IT and management from London’s respected Cass Business School.

Over the years, Boris has mentored many startup and accelerator programs and he continues to have a passion for encouraging and developing the next generation of entrepreneurs. A British/American dual national and global traveler, he lives in Mill Valley, California, with his wife and children.
