Serena Poon

Serena Poon is a liquidity account manager and is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She provides client relationship support for clients in the East Coast. She and her team provide clients with high-touch service on their day-to-day investment portfolio needs and guidance on investment reporting. Serena draws from her 15 years of experience in the financial services industry and her knowledge and expertise of internal SVB teams to help drive client success. She is passionate about being part of the innovation ecosystem, working with companies whose products are life-enhancing and change the world.

Prior to her current role, Serena was the main repo trader for SVB providing trade support for Private Equity investment accounts for 6 years. Prior to joining SVB, she worked in New York for 9 years as a derivatives client service associate at Morgan Stanley, a trade support consultant for APG Asset Management, as a Settlements consultant for Fidelity Investments, and as a Whole Loans and Corporate Actions Associate for Cantor Fitzgerald.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Tufts University and a master’s degree in public policy from UCLA. Serena is also a Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) fellow from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Serena is a strong advocate of the Asian American and LGBTQIA+ Community. She speaks at different public events and on different panels promoting family acceptance of the Asian American LGBTQIA+ Community. She was honored with the SVB in the Community Award for her work and advocacy. She enjoys her free time with her wife and child, traveling often to New York to visit friends and family or taking day trips to the beach or up to the mountains. She also enjoys playing basketball in recreation leagues, biking, snowboarding, and listening to audiobooks.
