Michelle Sabourin


Michelle Sabourin is a vice president for SVB’s Credit Solutions Practice in Toronto, where she manages lending and credit solutions for a wide range of clients and prospects. Michelle is life stage and industry agnostic within the various technology verticals. Partnering with the bank’s relationship management teams, Michelle leads due diligence efforts, crafts deal structures and supports with overall capital planning which helps innovation-sector company’s scale. She thrives on supporting visionary entrepreneurs as they transform bold ideas into game-changing realities that better our world. 

Michelle holds her Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) designations. The expertise gained through these credentials allows Michelle to understand businesses on a deeper level, with insights that go beyond a client’s credit and banking needs.

Before joining SVB in 2020, Michelle served at the Royal Bank of Canada as an associate director in group risk management; during this time, her work focused on the technology, life sciences and media and entertainment sectors. She first joined RBC as a relationship account manager, where she served commercial-banking clients. Earlier in her career, Michelle worked at EY, where she provided audit and assurance for private mid-market businesses. Michelle is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants Ontario and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario.

Outside of work, Michelle stays active and outdoors as much as possible; she enjoys hiking, camping, running and cycling. A lifelong hockey player, Michelle competed on the Guelph Gryphons’ varsity women’s hockey team during her four years as an undergraduate.
