Jason Graveley is a fixed-income trader at SVB Asset Management (SAM) in San Francisco. In this role, he and his team are responsible for carrying out investment strategies for numerous separately managed portfolios. Jason has always enjoyed the dynamic nature of his work as a trader. These days, however, he’s especially thrilled to be on the trading desk at SVB. He appreciates SVB’s positive and progressive corporate culture and thrives on engaging its distinct clientele of companies across the innovation landscape.
Before joining SVB, Jason worked on the fixed-income team of BlueCrest Capital Management in New York. In this role, he was responsible for the day-to-day trading of investment-grade and high-yield bonds, Treasuries, credit derivatives and futures. He also oversaw daily risk management. Jason began his career at Morgan Stanley, eventually landing a position in sales and trading. He gained expertise on a range of financial instruments, from distressed debt to asset-backed securities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing and related support services from Loyola College in Maryland.
While living on the East Coast, Jason was active in Habitat for Humanity for the New York region. When Jason’s not at work or volunteering, you might have a hard time finding him. That’s because he enjoys outdoor activities, like hiking, especially when they allow him to veer off the grid.
