Gretchen Boock

Though Gretchen’s roots return to the pre-prohibition days of hop farming in Oregon, they go even further back five generations to her relatives who still operate vineyards in Reims, France. Agriculture & booze are certainly in her blood, and is what she has dedicated her entire professional career to. She put herself through college working for her parents, building wineries while completing her dual degrees in Ag-Business and Spanish from Oregon State University. In 1999, Gretchen decided she was more interested in working in the winery rather than building them and began her first job in the cellar. Gretchen worked her way up from Cellar Master into business operations. As the winery celebrates its 15th anniversary, she leads a team of 38 producing 200,000 cases of wine as the Chief Executive Officer. She is responsible for implementing the vision for the winery’s three multi-tiered brands: Dobbes Family Estate, Jovino and Wine By Joe, plus numerous custom crush clients. Gretchen works closely with each department and drives the strategic business goals into clear tactical actions. What truly motivates her is cultivating a work culture comprised of talented individuals who are collaborative, friendly and positive with a drive for excellence.

Gretchen balances family life and career with the loving support of her husband Mike and their 3 fantastic kids Jocelyn (13), Addie (11) and Nico (8).
