Micaela Amaroli
Micaela Amaroli is a senior vice president of Startup Banking at Silicon Valley Bank in San Francisco. In this role, she’s focused on founder success for pre-Series A technology startups in the Northern California portfolio. Micaela is passionate about supporting founders in the most critical early days of launching their businesses and building scalable platforms that can help them achieve their goals.
Micaela has been a part of the technology investing world for 10 years as a client relationship manager, team leader and business manager. Before joining SVB in 2022, she spent eight years at AlphaSights building out their VC and PE-focused business. She began this role in New York, then moved to San Francisco in 2015 to launch AlphaSights’ first West Coast office. There, Micaela served as a general manager and jack of all trades, engaging in client-facing work, people management, hiring and employee engagement to grow the office from 5 to 40 employees. After AlphaSights, she spent almost two years in J.P. Morgan’s Technology Investment Banking practice as a business manager. She also helped launch J.P. Morgan’s Technology Ventures practice — a $500 million investment vehicle for private technology startups.
Outside of work, Micaela is an avid runner and four-time marathoner who enjoys combining her love of running with philanthropy for causes near and dear to her. Through her running, she’s helped raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in New York City and MassGeneral’s Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit in Boston. Micaela is also a volunteer for Back on My Feet, a nonprofit organization that fights homelessness through the power of fitness, community support and essential employment and housing resources.
Micaela has a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Johns Hopkins University and was a member of the varsity track and field team. Originally from New Hampshire, she now calls San Mateo, California, home where she lives with her husband and two young sons.
