Dirk Engelbert

Dirk Engelbert is a managing director in Global Fund Banking at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB). Dirk leads the structuring and diligence efforts in the Structured Fund Solutions (SFS) team. SFS is focused on providing debt facilities to fund clients based on the value of their investment assets (NAV facilities).

Dirk joined SVB in 2021 to help establish and build out the SFS team. Dirk has been a key contributor to the continuing build out of the breadth and depth of SVB’s NAV facility offering, which today covers private equity, growth equity, venture capital, private debt, private equity secondary and private equity fund of fund clients.

Prior to his current role, Dirk spent 10 years at Macquarie Group, holding predominantly structuring, diligence and execution focused roles working with private equity, direct lending and hedge fund clients.

Dirk holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering with University Medal (valedictorian) and First Class Honors (summa cum laude) from the University of Technology, Sydney, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®).
