- LatinxVC is focused on getting Latinx individuals into venture capital (VC), supporting and retaining Latinx individuals currently in the ecosystem, and providing access to limited partners (LPs) for Latinx VCs.
In October 2021, SVB became a founding sponsor of LatinxVC, a nonprofit group led by experienced venture investors focused on growing and supporting the Latinx venture capital ecosystem. Silicon Valley Bank is helping LatinxVC realize their goal of doubling the number of Latinx VCs in the industry. Currently, Latinx VCs comprise only 2% of total venture capital investment professionals.
One of the core pillars of the organization is to build relationships between LPs and emerging managers who are the future generation of the industry.
SVB’s Al Guerrero moderated a founding GP showcase panel discussing what has changed in the industry for EMs over the past decade. The showcase included more than 35 Latinx emerging managers.
