Tim Bulakul
Based in Denver, Tim is a vice president on the Strategic Capital Group team and has been with SVB since 2021. Tim's responsibilities include supporting deal origination for subordinated venture debt opportunities, deal structuring, underwriting and negotiation, and portfolio management. His primary interest areas are in climate tech and frontier tech.
Prior to joining SVB, Tim was a venture investment associate at Hyundai CRADLE (CVC arm of Hyundai Motor Group) for 3.5 years. His focus areas included mobility, electrification of transportation, and AI and robotics. At Hyundai, his key responsibilities included investment thesis generation, deal sourcing, deal execution, and portfolio management. Prior to Hyundai, he worked as an investment banking associate for a leading securities firm in Southeast Asia focused on IPO and M&A transactions.
Tim completed his bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University (Dean's List) and is a CFA charterholder. While not working, Tim enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, surfing, swimming, and stand-up paddle boarding.
