Nick Wolfe

Nick Wolfe is director, market manager—and resident winemaker—for SVB’s Northwest Wine Division team based in Portland, Oregon. In this role, he helps premium wineries and vineyards secure capital for real estate financing, construction, vineyard development, leveraged buyouts and more. Nick’s wine career has brought him through all of SVB’s premium wine geographies in California, Oregon and Washington. He thrives on using his extensive background in wine science, business and finance to help clients grow and achieve their business goals.

Nick joined SVB’s Wine Division in 2012, starting as an associate in the Santa Rosa office. He later became a vice president for the Napa, Sonoma and Central Coast regions. He relocated to the Portland office in June 2017 as market manager to help launch the first dedicated wine banking team headquartered in the Pacific Northwest.

In addition to his expertise in commercial banking, relationship management and credit analysis, Nick has gained extensive insight into the wine industry through both his work experience and academic studies. Earlier in his career, he spent seven years in winemaking and operations roles at various California-based wine companies. Nick holds a bachelor’s degree in Viticulture and Enology and a master’s degree in Finance and Organizational Behavior, both from the University of California, Davis.

When he’s not at work, this avid outdoorsmen enjoys exploring the trails, slopes and shores of the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Emilie, often accompanied by their blue-eyed Australian Shepherd, Aubear. Nick’s love for terroir extends beyond his vast understanding of viticulture—ask him about his passion for tomato farming too!
