Nicholas Farguson

Nick Farguson is a foreign exchange (FX) advisor for Silicon Valley Bank, focused on supporting growth-stage software companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. In his role, he consults with a variety of technology clients in different stages and verticals to help craft customized global growth strategies for expansion and operation in foreign markets. As an avid follower of capital markets, he is passionate about providing strategic advice and bringing new insights to some of the most interesting and innovative companies in the world.  

Before joining Silicon Valley Bank in 2018, Nick spent 10 years with Wells Fargo Securities. In his last position, he served as a corporate senior FX associate and assistant vice president; responsible for managing and brokering FX risk and advising clients on FX strategy and solutions, as well as accurately implementing corporate FX strategies.  Prior to his role in FX, he spent time working as an accountant and operations manager, maintaining the books and records for the WF Securities Proprietary Investing portfolio.   

He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Santa Clara University.  

Nick is the proud father of two amazing young daughters and when he’s not working, he spends most of his time with them. Nick also enjoys cycling, gardening and golf.
