Megan Scheffel

As the Head of Life Science and Healthcare at Silicon Valley Bank, Megan Scheffel leads a nationwide team dedicated to serving the unique needs of innovative life science and healthcare companies at all stages of growth. With over 25 years of experience financing innovation, she develops creative capital solutions for clients, connects investors and stakeholders to high-impact opportunities, and manages a dynamic and complex banking P&L.
 
Megan joined SVB in 1997. Prior to her current leadership role, she served as Global Senior Credit Officer, leading a team responsible for international deals – including holistic and specialized debt financings. Throughout her tenure at SVB, she has held a wide range of roles, primarily within technology banking, leading teams that support emerging and growth-stage firms, partnering closely with the venture capital community and driving business development. 

Megan is active in supporting entrepreneurial organizations and events throughout the Washington, D.C., area, where she resides. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, specializing in finance, from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
