Mark Kiyonaga


Mark Kiyonaga is a vice president, credit solutions for Silicon Valley Bank’s Canadian office, located in Toronto. Mark brings 15 years of experience in financial services and asset-based lending (ABL) for small-, mid- and large-cap companies. He is responsible for helping companies in the innovation space with creative financing solutions that help them grow and achieve their goals. He is excited to learn about new credit opportunities to offer his clients and seeing his recommendations and guidance come to fruition. Mark finds it extremely rewarding to play a part in his clients’ success through building strong working relationships built on trust and collaboration.

Before coming to Silicon Valley Bank, Mark spent 10 years with RBC Capital Markets. He served RBC most recently as a vice present, ABL business development, where he sourced, structured, presented and negotiated bi-lateral and syndicated ABL solutions for its clients. Before that role, Mark was an associate, underwriting ABL and spent time as a portfolio analyst with RBC; these positions provided him with a strong background and specialization in ABL that paved the way for his future career growth. Earlier, Mark spent time as an associate portfolio administrator for Perimeter Vectra of Perimeter Financial Corporation.

Mark earned an honors bachelor of arts from The University of Toronto and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, where he was a finalist in the integrated case exposition competition. He has earned CPA, CMA and CFA designations. Mark is a past volunteer for the Toronto International Film Festival Connect fundraising committee and the young professional programs for the United Way of Greater Toronto and the Toronto Region Board of Trade.

Mark lives in Toronto with his wife and young son. Outside of the office, he enjoys exploring diverse cultures and cuisines with his family, locally and abroad.
