Kathy Sun

Kathy Sun is a foreign exchange advisor on Silicon Valley Bank’s global fund banking team in San Francisco. She joined the bank in 2018 and is passionate about her work in foreign exchange markets and global economies. Kathy works closely with emerging market fund clients, technology companies and fintech companies in the US, India and Latin America to deliver strategic and tactical foreign exchange expertise. She is excited to provide risk assessments to her clients, which she does by closely monitoring market news, performing various analyses, and sharing best practices with clients to encourage partnerships and trustful relationships.

Before joining Silicon Valley Bank, Kathy worked for U.S. Bank in business development for their retail banking and wealth management divisions. She also received Bronze Shield Awards for outstanding performance and extraordinary client service.

Kathy holds a bachelor’s degree in media studies from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with honors. She is fluent in Mandarin. Kathy is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) Level II candidate. Kathy volunteers on the rescue and response team for the Marine Mammal Center in Northern California and has proudly rescued elephant seals, California sea lions and harbor seal pups.

At home, Kathy is a skilled chocolatier.
