Dax Williamson

Dax leads the efforts of SVB in Central Texas, helping to increase the probability of success for entrepreneurs by providing guidance, debt capital and banking services to emerging growth companies in the innovation economy.

Dax began his career with Wells Fargo’s US Corporate Banking Group, supporting Fortune-1000 companies in the Southeast US. Concurrent with his early career in banking, he worked to earn the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Upon that achievement, Mr. Williamson changed careers and moved to leverage his analytical skill set by managing publicly-traded equity portfolios for high net worth and institutional clients.

Ready to leave the greed and excesses of Wall Street behind during the height of the ‘credit crunch’, Dax jumped at the opportunity to help spur growth and entrepreneurship by joining SVB (Dallas) in 2008. After spending three years supporting entrepreneurs in the North Texas region, Dax and his family moved to Phoenix in 2011 before settling in Austin in 2014 to take a broader role within the bank, leading the growth of the dynamic Austin and Central TX market.

Dax holds a BBA in Finance from Texas Christian University. He spends his time actively supporting organizations and activities that bring focus to the SW region as a technology hub. Those have included the Austin Chapter of the CFO Leadership Council, Tech Stars Austin and Tech Stars Cloud. Additionally, while in Phoenix he volunteered to serve on the Invest SW Conference Executive Committee, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council’s Innovation Committee and the AZ Commerce Authority’s Innovation Challenge.
