Brian Sherer
Brian Sherer is a managing director in the Sponsor Finance Group at Silicon Valley Bank. In this role, he is responsible for leading a team dedicated to providing leveraged loans in support of private equity sponsored company acquisitions. He works with top tier technology focused middle market private equity firms across the country. His team has led over 60 buyout financings in vertical industries ranging from enterprise software and SAAS model deliveries to hardware technologies.
Sherer has over 25 years of banking experience, specializing in cash flow leveraged lending with deep domain experience in technology and enterprise software lending.
Prior to joining SVB in 2006, to start the buyout lending practice, Sherer worked for Wells Fargo Foothill where he completed over $1 billion worth of acquisition loans in the enterprise software space. He also served with Heller Financial, Bank of America, and GE Capital. Sherer also co-founded the technology specialty finance company Greyrock Capital.
Sherer holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Michigan. He was the recipient of the Presidents Club Award in 2007 and 2009 for his sales achievements.
