Silicon Valley Bank Appoints New Southeast Region Manager

VIENNA, Va. – May 10, 2011 – Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), financial partner to innovative technology and life science companies worldwide, promoted Megan Scheffel to lead its Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions for the company. In this role, Scheffel manages teams that are dedicated to serving emerging, middle-market and established technology and life science companies. Scheffel works closely with a number of private equity and venture capital clients and plays a key role in SVB's business development efforts.

Silicon Valley Bank has been a leading financial partner to startup and growing technology and life science companies in the region since it expanded into the D.C. area fifteen years ago. Scheffel joined Silicon Valley Bank in 1997 in its Santa Clara, Calif. headquarters. She later moved to Silicon Valley Bank's Boulder, Colo. office to work with local technology companies. Today, Scheffel actively supports entrepreneurial organizations and events throughout the D.C. area. She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, specializing in finance, from the University of Colorado in Boulder. In 2011, Scheffel was awarded SVB's highest honor, the Biggerstaff Award, named after one of the company's founders, for her dedication and commitment to her clients.
