Joan Young joined us on August 26 as a Managing Director, Relationship Manager in our New York office. Joan brings to Boston Private over 20 years of experience with ultra-high-net-worth clients and family enterprises.
Joan’s experience includes running two multi-billion dollar family offices for families with substantial operating businesses, practicing law at Davis Polk & Wardwell, serving as General Counsel of Christie’s, and a number of years in investment banking at both DLJ and then Morgan Stanley, which she left after 10 years as a Managing Director in Mergers & Acquisitions. Her work in the family office world began when she founded the Chanel family office in 1997. She also ran the Schnitzer family office in Portland, Oregon, sitting on the Board dealing with strategic issues in commercial real estate and global dry bulk goods shipping.
Joan is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and Harvard Law School.
