Revolutionizing the government contracting process with AI

About Procurement Sciences AI

Procurement Sciences AI (PSci.AI) is a pioneering force in the transformation of government contracting through artificial intelligence. Its platform enables government contractors to automate and optimize every step of the process — from business development and opportunity capture to proposal writing and post-award delivery.

By tackling the inefficiencies and bottlenecks that slow down government contracting with advanced technology, PSci.AI is changing the way contractors compete for and deliver on government work, helping them win more government business faster, smarter and with greater strategic impact.

The bold idea

The inspiration behind PSci.AI came from founder Christian Ferreira’s extensive experience in government contracting. His career progression from software engineer to business strategy exposed him to the persistent challenges facing the industry. He witnessed firsthand how complex, multi-hundred-page RFPs led teams to spend an enormous amount of time on manual, redundant work, often at the expense of bigger-picture strategic thinking. Combining his technical expertise with this domain knowledge, Christian envisioned a better way — one that would enable teams to focus on what matters most, rather than getting bogged down by administrative tasks.

This realization fueled the founding vision for PSci.AI: to transform the government contracting lifecycle using AI at the core. With pre-seed funding from Tower Research Capital, the PSci.AI team adopted a “fail fast” approach, rapidly bringing minimum viable products to market in months, and iterating based on user feedback. This relentless focus on speed, adaptation and user impact enabled PSci.AI to become the industry’s first AI-native platform — tackling even the most complex proposal and compliance challenges in a fraction of the traditional time and effort.

The potential to bring this disruptive approach to an underserved sector attracted additional capital: a Series A round led by Battery Ventures, joined by Tower Research Capital, K Street Capital, Blu Ventures and several angel investors. This funding allowed PSci.AI to accelerate development, expand its distribution and recruit a world-class team committed to solving government contracting’s toughest challenges.

The partnership

As PSci.AI’s growth accelerated, the need for a strategic financial partner became clear. SVB emerged as the ideal choice, offering more than just traditional banking services, such as:

  • Flexible, non-dilutive capital: A $5M venture debt facility gave PSci.AI the ability to quickly fund strategic technology investments and grow their team without slowing momentum with lengthy equity fundraising. Knowing they had this access to capital should they need it, empowered the leadership team to maintain focus on continued hypergrowth, product development and customer experience.
  • Alignment with vision: SVB demonstrated an authentic understanding of PSci.AI’s goals and culture, standing out among other venture debt providers.
  • Networking and Ecosystem Access: SVB connected PSci.AI with prospective customers, like-minded founders and innovation ecosystem partners through exclusive events and roundtables, fostering valuable relationships, new business opportunities and knowledge-sharing.
  • Strategic Guidance: Beyond financing, SVB offered valuable insights and guidance, leveraging their deep understanding of the tech innovation economy, and access to feedback from those who had navigated similar paths before.

SVB proved to be more than a capital source, but also a catalyst for new relationships and industry-wide impact, enabling PSci.AI to maintain its hypergrowth while focusing on product development and customer experience.
