Derek Rogers

Derek leads oversight and monitoring for Embedded Payments programs at SVB, a Division of First Citizens Bank, ensuring adherence with bank requirements, industry rules and regulatory expectations. He builds scalable risk and governance frameworks for clients and portfolio activity that support growth while maintaining operational controls.

Previously, he was director of Payment Facilitation Underwriting & Risk Management at SVB, leading underwriting strategy and supporting the build and expansion of PayFac programs and risk frameworks.

Derek spent over a decade at PayPal where he held multiple leadership roles across enterprise risk, underwriting and portfolio management. He also volunteers with the Association of Payment Professionals (APP), serving as vice chairman of the Conference Program Committee, supporting industry education and event programming.

Derek received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

When he’s not helping clients build their embedded payment solutions, Derek enjoys board games, movies and building creative projects. He often spends time with family and is passionate about storytelling, problem-solving and exploring new ideas both professionally and personally.
