David Song

David Song is a foreign exchange advisor for Silicon Valley Bank in Menlo Park, California. In this role, David helps global fund banking clients manage international investments from an FX perspective at all stages of the investment life cycle. Sharply focused on the private equity and venture capital ecosystem, his comprehensive suite of services includes FX solutions, trade executions, risk management advice, market insights and the streamlining of foreign currency accounts. David finds the unique situatedness of his work especially rewarding: Daily, he operates at the dynamic intersection where global macroeconomic strategy and the innovation economy converge.

Before joining SVB in 2019, David spent five years working for a boutique investment firm. During this time, he helped manage four currency-focused mutual funds, a global macro hedge fund and an exchange-traded fund. David has also held credit analyst positions in banking and, earlier in his career, for a multinational computer hardware and electronics firm. David earned a bachelor’s degree in economics, financial management and quantitative economics from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

In his free time, David enjoys playing music. He is also actively pursuing his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt.
