Santa Clara, Calif., April 7, 2006 - For the second year in a row, SVB Financial Group (Nasdaq: SIVB) was named one of the best places to work in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times, Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and East Bay Business Times. SVB Financial Group is ranked 11th among big companies (those with 501-3,000 employees) in the region. The Business Journals recognized SVB Financial Group for investing in and employing practices that help it attract, retain and grow empowered and dedicated employees.
"SVB Financial Group and its member businesses work hard to create a productive, open and innovative work environment and to provide the tools employees need to excel in their careers," said Lynda Ward Pierce, head of human resources, SVB Financial Group. "The Bay Area is a highly motivated and competitive job market and we are honored to be recognized with this award once again. Our dedicated, enterprising, ethical and driven employees have shaped our culture and made SVB Financial Group a great company in the Bay Area and around the world."
The list of the Best Places to Work in the Greater Bay Area is based on employees' satisfaction with their workplaces and a review of the companies' policies, procedures, cultures and practices. All employees of participating companies were given an opportunity to respond to questions about their companies via an anonymous survey. Questions in the employee survey gauged how happy employees were with their work climate and culture, management practice and specific policies and benefits offerings.
Jack Jenkins-Stark, CFO, and Lynda Ward Pierce, head of human resources, SVB Financial Group, accepted the award from the Business Journal at an awards banquet April 5, 2006 at the San Francisco Marriott.
