Silicon Valley Bank's Jason Hughes to Be Panelist at Emerging Company FAQ Workshop Event on June 19

San Francisco -- June 18, 2001 -- Jason Hughes, relationship manager in Silicon Valley Bank's San Francisco office, will be a panelist at the Emerging Company FAQ Workshop "Startups and BizPlans 2001: Starting up in Down Market" on June 19. The event will be held in the Sheraton Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

The panel will address various issues regarding startup companies, including the best way to pitch a company, key elements of a business plan, how to obtain seed funding, startup legal issues and building a successful management team. Additional speakers and panelists will include Thomas Cervantez and Peter Feinberg of Thelen Reid & Priest LLP, Naresh Parshotam of Vialto, Thomas Bondi of Berger/Lewis Accountancy Corporation and Mike Triantos of TriNet.

Hughes handles a portfolio of early-stage, pre-venture capital backed technology companies based in the San Francisco region. He also works closely with the Bank's network of individual angel investors and strategic partners. Prior to joining the Bank in 2000, Hughes served as vice president and marketing officer for The CIT Group's Technology Finance Group. While with CIT he provided financing to early-stage semiconductor-related companies.
