Silicon Valley Bank Names Curtis Chinn Division Manager of Vendor Financial Services

Company News  |

Santa Clara, CA -- March 29, 2001 - Silicon Valley Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Silicon Valley Bancshares, has named Curtis Chinn division manager of the Bank's Vendor Financial Services Division.

Chinn will be responsible for growing the Vendor Financial Services Division by strategically selecting and implementing Vendor Financing Programs with Global 2000 companies and Bank clients. He will continue to build upon the division's foundation by working closely with the Vendor Financial Services team, senior management and account officers to enhance current product offerings and ensure a seamless and integrated process flow for new and existing clients.

Chinn joins Silicon Valley Bank from the Bank of Hawaii, where he was senior vice president of the Insurance Services Division and was responsible for managing the bank's three insurance subsidiaries. Prior to his most recent role, Chinn was responsible for leading the Bank of Hawaii's leasing subsidiary, Pacific Century Leasing. While running the leasing subsidiary his team grew outstandings to over $400 million.

"I was drawn to Silicon Valley Bank due its unique niche focus and market dominance," said Chinn. "In my new position I plan to further grow the Vendor Financial Services Division and deepen its integration within the Bank."

Chinn earned a bachelor's degree in economics in 1976 and a master's degree in economics in 1979, both from the University of California, Davis.

Silicon Valley Bank serves emerging growth and middle market companies in targeted niches, focusing on technology and life sciences, while also addressing other specific industries in which it can provide a higher level of service and better manage credit through specialization and focus.

The Bank operates throughout the Silicon Valley: Santa Clara, Palo Alto and Sand Hill, the center of the venture capital community in California. Other regional offices within California include: Irvine, Los Angeles, Napa Valley, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, and Sonoma. Office locations outside of California include: Phoenix, Arizona; Boulder, Colorado; West Palm Beach, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; Boston, Massachusetts; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Durham, North Carolina; Portland, Oregon; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Austin, Texas; Dallas, Texas; Northern Virginia; and Seattle, Washington.
