Katherine Sheehan named an accredited estate planner designee by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils

Boston Private is pleased to announce Director and Senior Trust Officer Katherine Sheehan is newly certified as an Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designee by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC).

The Accredited Estate Planner designation is a graduate level, multi-disciplinary specialization in estate planning, obtained in addition to already recognized professional credentials within the various disciplines of estate planning. The designation is awarded by NAEPC to recognize estate planning professionals who meet stringent requirements of experience, knowledge, education, professional reputation and character. An AEP designee must embrace the team concept of estate planning and adhere to the NAEPC Code of Ethics, as well as participate in an annual renewal and recertification process.

Ms. Sheehan has more than two decades of experience in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, charitable planning, long term care planning and elder law. Prior to joining Boston Private, she was a Partner at DesRosiers, Tierney & Sheehan, LLC, and served in roles at Cody & Cody, LLC and Ruberto, Israel & Weiner. Ms. Sheehan began her legal career as a Trust Counsel for Boston Financial Management.

Ms. Sheehan holds a B.S. in political science from Boston College and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts and the Boston Estate Planning Council.
