Boston Private is pleased to announce that Brian Smith has joined as a Managing Director and Relationship Manager in the Palm Beach Gardens office. He will be responsible for growing and developing private client relationships for the Wealth Management business, and delivering comprehensive strategies and solutions for high-net-worth clients.
Mr. Smith brings more than 25 years of experience in financial services. Prior to joining Boston Private, he served as a Managing Director and Senior Advisor at Fieldpoint Private, where he helped to establish the firm’s presence in the Palm Beach market. Previously, he spent 17 years with First Republic in New York, Greenwich, CT, and Palm Beach, FL. Earlier in his career, Mr. Smith served in private banking roles at US Trust and The Bank of New York.
Mr. Smith is a past board member and Chair of the Palm Beach and Martin County Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization and Former Director for the Estate Planning Council of New York City, Inc.
Mr. Smith earned his bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business. He holds a Certificate in Personal Financial Planning from New York University, and has also completed all three levels of the Cannon Trust School CTFA Designation.
