Rona Smith

Rona Smith is a senior relationship advisor with the Life Science and Healthcare team for Silicon Valley Bank in Austin, Texas. She has been with the SVB family since 2000. Before her current role, Rona was a technology team supervisor for SVB Financial Group.

As a seasoned banker, Rona manages a large portfolio and is the primary point of contact for questions related to her clients’ accounts as she oversees their deposit needs. She is passionate about caring for her clients and appreciates being a trusted advisor as she provides knowledgeable insights to meet their business requirements. Rona recently received the “Mover of Mountains” award from Silicon Valley Bank and has been on many task forces with the bank, including new account onboarding, global incident management and credit card mitigation.

Earlier in her career, Rona began her path in banking as an agent officer with Wells Fargo, where she handled new accounts, advised on products and services and sold annuities.

She is a member of Women in Bio (WIB), Texas chapter, which provides a supportive community for professional women in all walks of life to interact and exchange information and ideas. Rona donates to the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter and adopts unhealthy or unwanted dogs from the shelter and helps in their rehabilitation efforts.

Rona grew up on Long Island, New York. She moved to Texas to attend college and decided to make her home there. She’s lived in Austin for nearly 30 years. Outside of the office, you can find Rona working in her yard and going for walks and playing with her dog.
