Boston Private is pleased to announce that Matthew Remis has joined as a Managing Director and Relationship Manager based in Boston. He will be responsible for growing and developing private client relationships, and delivering comprehensive strategies and solutions for high-net-worth clients.
Mr. Remis brings nearly 20 years of experience in financial services. He returns to Boston Private after nine years with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, most recently in the role of First Vice President and Financial Advisor. There, he was responsible for business development and the delivery of comprehensive wealth management solutions for high-net-worth individuals, families, nonprofits and endowments. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Remis spent six years with Boston Private in the role of Vice President of Investment Management & Trust. Prior to his time with Boston Private, Mr. Remis held roles with Heritage Capital Management, Sovereign Bank and Fidelity Investments.
Mr. Remis has been a member of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Finance Committee since 2014. Additionally, he serves as an Overseer for Boston Children’s Hospital and also chaired the Fore the Kids golf tournament, raising in excess of $175,000 annually for Boston Children’s Hospital. He is passionate about causes related to childhood cancer and has served as a counselor for children with cancer for more than 30 years.
Mr. Remis holds a Master in Business Administration from Northeastern University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Africana Studies from Union College in Schenectady, New York.
