Gabi Mandowsky


Gabi Mandowsky is a managing director for the Global Fund Banking practice at Silicon Valley Bank in Canada. Based in Toronto, she is responsible for the Canadian fund lending practice, supporting clients across a wide spectrum of sectors, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure and venture funds. Gabi thrives on building authentic relationships with her clients, understanding their business needs and collaborating with them to develop unique, creative financing solutions. She also supports her clients’ success by providing unique sector insights and invaluable industry connections.

Before joining SVB Canada, Gabi was senior director of sponsor finance for BMO Financial Group. While at BMO, she supported midmarket private equity funds, structuring fund debt and financing to support leveraged buyouts. She started her career as a corporate lawyer, with specialization in securities and mergers and acquisitions, advising a diverse group of clients. Gabi’s breadth of experience allows her to bring strategic financial acumen and a solutions-oriented approach to optimizing business opportunities for each of her clients.

Gabi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international development and art history from McGill University in Montreal, followed by Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Osgoode Hall Law School and Schulich School of Business in Toronto. She is an active volunteer and currently sits on the advisory board for UJA Genesis, which focuses on innovative strategies to drive engagement and volunteerism for the Jewish community in Toronto. In her free time, Gabi enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband and their three children. Together they enjoy a variety of activities, including tennis, yoga, skiing, cycling and building snowmen.
