Katia Friend is market leader for the New York and mid-Atlantic regions for SVB Private, a division of First Citizens Bank. Katia leads teams of wealth management professionals who advise influential leaders in the innovation economy for the financial, real estate and legal sectors. With her team, Katia develops strategic wealth plans for clients that include tax-efficient portfolio construction, as well as investment management, wealth transfer planning and optimization of liquidity through strategic leverage and efficient cash management. She is passionate about working with clients directly, carefully guiding them to financial options and solutions. Katia also focuses on mentoring emerging talent.

Katia joined SVB Private in 2023 and has more than 30 years of wealth management experience, with direct experience advising investors, executives, entrepreneurs and private and public foundations. Before her current position, she served BNY Mellon Wealth Management for 14 years as market president and head of client strategy for the New York Tri-State region. Earlier, Katia was a managing director and private client adviser for US Trust.

Outside of her professional career, Katia has worked with several organizations as a volunteer or a trustee for nonprofit organizations that include the Westport Country Playhouse and the Wall Street Women’s Alliance.
