Gisela LoPiano
Gisela LoPiano is a senior managing director for SVB Private in the Boston, Massachusetts, office. She served as an executive vice president at Boston Private until 2021, when the company was acquired by SVB. Gisela has nearly 35 years of experience in financial services and leads a team responsible for specialty commercial and private lending for nonprofit organizations, primarily in the education sector. Currently, clients are predominantly located in California, Florida and New York; the future mission is national expansion to serve more clients as Gisela’s team grows. Partnering with local and national advocacy, social service and cultural organizations, her team is involved at a grass-roots level to learn more about furthering the missions of nonprofits. The individuals on her team are highly experienced with financing, banking and investment management solutions best suited to meet the goals of nonprofit organizations.
Gisela joined Boston Private in 2003, first serving as senior vice president and team leader. She moved into a position as the East Coast regional executive director and chief lending officer, followed by an executive vice president position. During this time, she had the opportunity to lead teams serving client groups, including privately held companies, high net worth individuals, nonprofit organizations, professional service firms, and private equity and venture funds and their partners. Earlier in her career, Gisela was a vice president of domestic private banking for HSBC, a director with BankBoston/Fleet and a vice president for BayBank.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Miami and is fluent in English and Spanish.
Following 32 years in the Boston area, Gisela now lives in Rhode Island.
