Push notifications are tappable pop-up messages that will notify you of activity through the Digital Banking mobile app. Notifications will appear in the notification center, a lock screen, or in the top section of a mobile device.
With push notifications, now you can:
- Have alerts sent via Push in addition to SMS or Email
- Receive notifications when you travel internationally, as long as you have an internet connection
- Tap the message to launch the Digital Banking mobile banking app

The Push Notification enrollment screen will be presented once you login into the SVB Mobile app once you upgrade to version 1.0.5713 or later. If you have automatic updates enabled, your app will be upgraded with no action. When presented with the prompt, Click “Allow” to enroll Push Notification.
If you originally selected “No, Thanks” and want to enroll into the service later:
- On your mobile app, select Settings under the Home menu
- Select Push Notifications
- Turn the slider to “On” position under Enable Notifications
- On iOS, you will need to accept the prompt to allow notifications
Push notification enrollment can be managed within the Mobile Banking apps on iOS and Android:
- Open your mobile banking app
- Select Settings under the Home menu
- Push Notifications will be available as a sub-menu option under Settings
- You will be able to enable/disable Push Notifications
Note: To manage which alerts use Push Notifications, go to Settings > Manage Alerts where individual alerts can be configured to use Push Notifications as the delivery option.
To stop receiving Push Notifications:
- On your mobile app, select Settings under the Home menu
- Select Push Notifications
- Turn the slider to “Off” position under Enable Notifications
Note: If you disable Push Notifications from your device’s OS-level settings, the Digital Banking mobile app may still indicate that Push Notifications are enabled. If you disable Push Notifications from within Digital Banking, you do not need to adjust your OS-level settings.
Push Notifications will be available in the notification screen, banner, and locked screen.
What alert types can use push notifications?
Accounts, History, Transaction, Reminder, and specific Security alerts. To learn more about configuring alerts, see Managing Digital Banking Alerts.
What alerts cannot use push notifications?
SAC codes cannot be received as push notifications.
What devices are compatible with Push Notifications?
Push notifications are available through Digital Banking mobile and can be supported in the following devices:
- Apple iPhone and Apple Watch
- Android mobile devices
- Tablets
Will there be a charge for using Push Notifications?
No, Push Notifications is a free service and are available for all Digital Banking clients.
How many people/users can enroll for push notifications with the same Digital Banking mobile app?
Only 1 person/user can enroll for push notifications with the same Digital Banking mobile app. If you wish to enroll more than 1 person, you will receive an error on the Digital Banking mobile app.
