Mark Thylin
Mark Thylin is head of Partnerships for Global Fund Banking at SVB, a division of First Citizens Bank. In this role, Mark manages and maintains all the Centers of Influence (COIs) in the fund banking ecosystem for the Bank. COIs include fund administrators, lawyers, accountants, placement agents, etc. Each of these services, along with fund banking, are critical to the private equity community.
Prior to this role, Mark founded and ran the Structured Fund Solutions team at SVB. That team is directly responsible for net asset value (NAV) lending to private equity funds and secondaries funds, as well as leverage lending to private credit funds.
Mark has more than 25 years of banking experience within the private equity, venture capital and innovation economy. He began his career at SVB in 1997 and has spent more than 20 years in a number of roles within the bank. Prior to his current role, Mark was as a region manager for Global Fund Banking teams in Denver, Chicago and Toronto. During his tenure, he has worked in offices in Northern California, Arizona, Colorado and the UK. He has also served in a variety of financial positions for companies that include Robertson Stephens Investment Bankers, Level 3 Communications and McKesson Health Solutions.
Mark currently resides in Denver, CO where he earned both a bachelor’s degree in Finance and an MBA from the University of Colorado.
