Silicon
Valley Bank, the
premier commercial bank for companies in the technology, life science, venture
capital and premium wine industries, announced it will now offer SVB Business
MasterCard account holders the ability to manage their accounts from any
location and at any time using their mobile devices.
By
sending a text message to S-V-B-T-X-T (782898), SVB clients will receive their
credit card account information on their cell phone via secure Short Message
Service (SMS) text message technology.
With SVB
mobile messaging, clients can now view real time account information, such as
account balances, available credit and recent transactions, for their SVB
Business MasterCard accounts.
This is
the first of several new mobile services available from Silicon Valley Bank,
with additional services such as fraud alerts via SMS text message rolling out
in the coming months.
"Text
messaging has become an integral part of many of our clients' lives and one of
the easiest ways to stay connected to business associates, family and friends,"
said Greg Becker, president of Silicon Valley Bank. "With SVB mobile messaging alerts, clients
can use this familiar and simple tool to help manage their SVB Business
MasterCard and stay on top of their business' expenses."
"We're
excited to offer SVB mobile messaging to SVB Business MasterCard card holders
as the first mobile service from SVB," said Pradeep Moudgal, Head of Global
Cards & Merchant Services. "We know
from CTIA–The Wireless Association® that more than 1.56 trillion text messages
were sent in 2009 alone. Our clients are
eager to use text messaging and mobile platforms to manage their business
accounts and we're committed to providing them with the services to do
so."
How
It Works
Clients
enroll by signing in to their Business MasterCard accounts management site at www.svb.com/businesscreditcard and registering their phone. Any SVB Business MasterCard customer with a
mobile phone can use the free service, which is available through all cell
phone carriers and does not require any software download. Standard text
messaging rates from the cellular phone carriers do apply. More information
about the service can be viewed at www.svb.com/bcc/.
