Silicon Valley Bank - the bank for high growth technology businesses - annually asks US based startups about their company's health, hiring plans, industry and market issues, government policies and other factors impacting their growth. This year we wanted to widen the net and understand the issues affecting our startup friends on this side of the pond. So, in December 2012 we introduced a similar survey in the UK, resulting in a survey sample of 125 UK based c level executives from innovative tech businesses. For the purposes of this study, UK startups are primarily defined as those in the innovation sector with less than £25 Million in annual revenue and fewer than 100 employees. Here's what we found.
