Andy’s responsibilities span SVB’s Private Bank Wealth Advisory Lending services in three areas. As leader of lending programs, he manages a focused team that tailors lending solutions in mortgage, securities-backed lending, commercial real estate and tailored credit solutions. As leader of the service team, he also oversees the personalized, high-touch client care SVB provides across its platform of banking, lending and wealth advisory services. He also provides comprehensive oversight and strategic insights by delivering key performance indicators and other data analytic assessments.
Andy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and finance from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and went on to earn an MBA from the University of New Hampshire’s Peter T. Paul School of Business.
Before joining SVB, Andy worked at FleetBoston Financial in a number of roles in both the Commercial Bank as well as the Private Wealth Management groups. First, he served as a Senior Vice President leading a team providing a range of corporate banking and global treasury management solutions to middle market companies in the Greater Boston market. Then, he became a Director of Wealth Strategies with the Private Bank where he led an advisory practice for Business Owner Succession and Exit Strategies.
In 2004 Andy joined SVB’s Boston-area team as a managing director, leading the bank’s Private Banking efforts in the Northeast and Southeast regions.
From there Andy moved to managing director and co-head of the SVB Commercial Banking Group in the Greater San Diego area, leading SVB’s new business development focused on early and late-stage emerging growth companies in the technology and life science industries.
In 2012 Andy was named a senior credit officer, taking on responsibility for credit approvals, portfolio quality, risk management and the development of new credit products for the rapidly growing Private Banking group. He was named head of Private Banking in 2014.
In 2016, Andy completed the Leadership and Strategic Communication program at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business.
A champion for young people facing financial hardship, Andy served for 10 years as an advisory board member for the Advanced Studies Program at St. Paul’s School, a residential high school in New Hampshire. He currently serves on the board of directors for Peninsula Bridge, a nonprofit based in San Mateo, California, that provides after-school, weekend and summer programs to increase the chances of success for high-achieving students living in low-income communities.
