Marshall Hawks

Marshall leads the Northern California Technology Relationship Management team that is responsible for partnering with private venture-banked companies in the enterprise software, consumer internet and frontier technology sectors. He also oversees the Strategic Capital Group at SVB, the bank’s in house mezzanine debt fund.  That team focuses on providing large subordinated and convertible debt structures to the highest profile companies in SVB’s portfolio across the country.

Before his current role, Marshall helped build SVB Canada as their first Head of Credit Solutions.  He also led the Strategic Capital Group’s efforts in Northern California, worked in China for SVB’s joint venture and led the Hardware and Enterprise Software verticals in Northern California for a number of years.

Prior to joining SVB in 2009, Marshall worked in venture banking/lending across roles at Wells Fargo, Greater Bay Bank Venture Banking and Comerica Bank. Marshall has a degree in economics from Sonoma State University, and outside of work, he is an avid skier, enjoys lifting oddly shaped heavy objects and the fun that is chasing a toddler around all day long.
