Mark Turk is managing director, advisory services, for the Southern California region at Silicon Valley Bank. He supports a team that specializes in providing debt financing and other banking services to startup and growth-stage companies (up to $100M in revenue) in the software, internet, infrastructure, and clean-tech sectors throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. Turk began his commercial banking career in 1989 and has been actively involved in financing startups and emerging growth technology and life science companies located throughout Southern California since 2000.
Prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank in 2000, Turk was chief credit officer at Pacific Century Bank, a $1.3 billion business bank headquartered in Los Angeles and was also a vice president at Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America. Before his banking career, Turk was an engineer at Allied-Signal Corporation.
He is currently a board member of the Los Angeles Venture Association. Turk is also a former board member and treasurer of Conejo Simi Aquatics, the Central Coast MIT Forum, the Technology Management Program at UCSB, the California Coast Venture Forum and the San Fernando Valley YMCA. Turk earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson Graduate School of Management.
