John China is head of relationship banking for Silicon Valley Bank and SVB Financial Group and he is a member of the company’s executive committee. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the company’s relationships within the venture capital and private equity, private bank, and commercial bank communities in four key areas:
• Venture and Private Equity Services: providing banking services to venture capital and private equity clients.
• Private Banking and Wealth Management: serving the unique financial needs of technology professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors.
• Client Acquisition: managing current and identifying new opportunities within the company’s network of relationships with venture capital and private equity firms, corporate ventures and entrepreneurs and their partners.
• Corporate Finance: managing the company’s network of relationships with growing businesses, assisting with scalability and growth transitions.
Previously, China held a variety of commercial banking and relationship management leadership positions at SVB.
China earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Stanford University. He currently serves on the advisory board for DEMO, is a board member of ASTIA and the California Israel Chamber of Commerce, and he previously served on the advisory board for the Executive Roundtable of New York City.
