Will Montague is a director, wealth analysis and research, for SVB Private in the Boston office. He leads a team to serve and support founders, wealth creators, closely held business owners and family offices, and serves as the primary conduit between the bank’s clients, the wealth analysis and research team and the SVB wealth team for a variety of pivotal research and implementation initiatives. Will has extensive expertise in project management and client service, as well as business operations, and he is excited to share his deep knowledge with clients. Will is passionate about leveraging the entirety of SVB’s capabilities to help deliver strategic, personalized and results-driven client experiences. He joined SVB Private in 2020.
Will has nearly two decades of experience working in the financial industry in various client-facing, administrative and investment roles. Before joining SVB Private, he was a senior associate at Falcon Investment Advisors, where he helped underwrite and monitor investments in private middle market companies focused on mezzanine debt and structured equity. Will began his career in commercial lending and private banking, working within the restructuring group at Citizens Bank. At Boston Private, he was a vice president, providing term loans and revolving lines of credit to founders and entrepreneurial business owners. Before that, Will worked at Brookline Bank, where he held several roles, including private banker.
Will earned his master’s degree in finance from the New England College of Business and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He’s also a CFA® charterholder and a CFP® professional.
Will grew up in the Boston area, where he spent countless hours playing basketball. He has an enduring love for the Boston Celtics, and he dreams of becoming the director of the local travel basketball program when he retires.
