
Mark Childs is a market executive and senior managing director for SVB Private in the New York region. He counsels clients in the innovation economy on critical issues, including balance sheet optimization, wealth management, holistic planning, tailored credit, banking and philanthropic strategy. Mark’s role also includes evaluating key firm resources to determine which are best suited to each client’s current and future needs.
Prior to joining SVB, Mark was a senior vice president with the Private Banking Family Office group at HSBC. Before that, he served as an executive director and head of the Healthcare and Life Sciences practice at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Mark was also a vice president at Credit Suisse Private Banking, where he managed alternative investments for families, endowments and not-for-profit organizations. Earlier in his career, Mark was a publisher of economics, finance and life sciences in Pearson Higher Education.
Mark has a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He has been a longtime advisory board member for Audubon New York. Outside of work, Mark enjoys birding, biking, running, hiking and yoga. He lives in Pelham, New York, with his wife and two children.
