John Snyder is a private wealth advisor for SVB Private, based in the Santa Monica, California, office. Before joining SVB Private, John spent seven years with Brown Advisory, a global investment management and advisory firm. While there, he held several roles, most recently as an associate portfolio manager. In that position, he designed, built and co-managed discretionary investment portfolios on behalf of high-net-worth individuals, multigenerational families, endowments and foundations. In addition, has experience of constructing holistic investment plans and estate planning strategies for clients, with a sharp focus on overall balance sheets and potential tax exposures.
John attended Georgetown University, where he earned his MBA and a bachelor’s degree in finance. During his undergraduate years, he was a member of the university’s NCAA Division I men’s varsity soccer team.
John is a board member and committee chair for Hoyas Unlimited, whose purpose is to assist Georgetown Athletics in its mission to develop the talents, character and leadership qualities of all student athletes and athletic community members, as well as generating fundraising support from student athlete alumni, parents, fans and friends of the university.
Outside of the office, you can find him coaching youth soccer, hiking, traveling and surfing. John lives in Southern California with his wife.
