Joe Koontz is market manager of Tailored Lending for SVB Private, a division of First Citizens Bank. In his role, Joe leads a national team that advises on and offers clients a wide range of custom credit solutions. Joe and his team analyze client balance sheets and compensation structures, finding ways to address financial goals with a focus on leverage efficiency and creativity. The opportunity to help entrepreneurs with the pursuit of their financial potential is what fuels Joe the most.

Joe is a Silicon Valley native with broad expertise in financing solutions for innovation economy executives and investors. Prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank, Joe was a member of the Wells Fargo loan team, focusing on debt and credit management. He had a lead role in launching the bank’s home preservation initiative. Joe also held positions in Bank of America’s consumer banking division.

Joe holds a bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University. Joe, his wife and their two children are active members of the local community, enjoy travel and rooting for Bay Area sports teams.
