Denise Piper

Denise Piper is a senior managing director, western region, for SVB Private. Previously, she served as a senior managing director at Boston Private until 2021, when Boston Private was acquired by SVB. Denise is an experienced veteran in the financial services industry, and she leads the specialty commercial team that provides middle-market lending to privately held businesses and professional service firms for western region that includes the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California and Southern California. She is passionate about delivering exceptional service experiences, and she is excited to work with her team and other SVB Private partners to help clients not only grow and expand their businesses, but to guide clients in moments that matter to their businesses and families.

Before joining SVB Private, Denise served as senior vice president, commercial banking manager at Wells Fargo Bank, where she led a team in the San Francisco Bay Area to promote client portfolio growth by implementing marketing and business development initiatives; she won several national awards during her tenure with the bank. While at JP Morgan Chase, Denise was a first vice president, area manager, business banking and relationship manager. There, she built out a new team of relationship managers in the Bay Area; in the first year, her team attained a top five national ranking for new relationship growth, deposit services leadership and credit productivity. Earlier in her career, she held a variety of leadership roles at Wells Fargo Bank, Bank of the West, Washington Mutual Bank and Fremont Bank.

Denise holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from California State University, East Bay, and she serves on the advisory committee for the school of business and economics at her alma mater.

When not working for her clients or spending time with her family, Denise volunteers at Habitat for Humanity, and she enjoys growing fruits and vegetables in her hobby garden.
