How to transfer funds to an account at SVB Private that you do not own.

Digital Banking allows for person to person transfers to someone else who has an account at SVB Private. The recipient must also be a user in Digital Banking. To initiate the transfer, you will need the recipient’s account number and the first three letters of the account holder’s last name. You have the option to perform a single transfer or link the account for repeated or recurring deposits.
To make a transfer, go to Transfers & Payments and select: To Other Accounts.
Single transfer – To create a one-time transaction, choose Single Transfer. Enter the following information:
- Select the “from” account
- Enter the amount
- Add the memo information - description that will appear on the transaction
- Enter the other SVB Private account you are crediting
- Select the account type - Checking or Savings
- Enter the first three letters of the Account Holder’s last name - Note: this is not case sensitive
When all the information has been completed, click Submit. The system will display a message informing you that the transaction has successfully completed. You can view the transaction in the Activity Center.
Link account – For making repeated or recurring deposits, choose Link Account. Enter the following information:
- Enter the other SVB Private account number you would like to link to
- Select the account type – Checking or Savings
- Enter the first three letters of the Account Holder’s last name - Note: this is not case sensitive
When the information has been completed, click Submit. They system will display a message informing you that the account is linked. To transfer to the newly linked account, go to Transfers & Payments and select Between Accounts. The linked account will appear in the list of eligible accounts to transfer to. You have the option to create a regular transfer or set up a recurring transfer to the linked account.
